TRIP ADVISOR REVIEW
I'd visited the Ye Olde Anchor Inn last year on holiday in the Cotswolds with family, so when we decided to visit the Cotswolds again this place was on our first stop list. The food here is not only fantastic value, but it is all home-made and to top it off very, very yummy!
We called in on a Sunday and the pub is certainly full of old charm, it's a strange mix between food pub and local drinking hole, We saw it packed out in the evening when we passed.
The food is only served between 12pm and 4pm daily. The food is olde English comfort food and the very best, no bistro, gastro etc here but it's not an issue because it tastes wonderful.
I had the beef roast with all the trimming and everything right down to the gravy was perfect. My parents both had steak and mushroon pudding and said it was melt in the mouth and the chips amazing. My partner had ribs (something he is normally wary about) and ate every scrap. I then had a black and blue pudding (blueberry hot sponge) and custard whiuch was also fantastic! I just cannot fault this place, we've visited twice and it's been great each time. Lovely pub full of history and great food.
